It's been a busy few weeks.
In June we went to Anakiwa to a farewell/birthday party for our friend Amy (Simon worked with her at AdSpecs in Auckland) and she has been working at Outward Bound for the last few years. It was a really great weekend, partying with the couple that run Ceroc (modern jive dancing) in Nelson, cruising out on the launch in the Marlborough sounds with the dolphins and seals and birds, hanging out with some good friends and some new ones too.
In the last weekend of June we headed to Methven and stayed at the local YHA lodge with all the Scolly family, almost, Marion and Rich couldn't make it. It was a busy weekend with all the cousins aged 8 months to almost 7 years! On Saturday we headed up Mt Hutt and played in the snow and on Sunday we had a relaxing brunch and headed out for a walk. The lodge was an awesome place to stay, particularly as we had part of it pretty much to ourselves, and, of course, great company too.
A few photos...
Haven't done too much over the last few weekends. The garden has been a bit neglected and some small seedlings in toilet rolls didn't survive while we were away, and given the frost last night, todays cool temperature and the frost thats already started tonight I'm not sure how much of whats out in the gardens will thrive. But, Si has been making a cloche (movable cover) for the gardens so hopefully that will increase the growing season.
Thats about it for now... Nate and I are off to Ohau for Jarrod and Kelly's engagement party part two on Friday.
