About Thursday, Simon raised the ideas of keeping chickens, again. So, onto TradeMe we went and looked at what chickens were available locally. We also surfed around the net and got ideas for the type of chickens we wanted and how to build a chook house.
On Saturday Simon went to Bunnings and bought timber, chicken wire, nails and hinges. That night we bought some chickens.
On Sunday we were busy building an A-frame chook house and got a call at lunch time to say come get the chooks, so two beautiful silver pencilled wyandotte bantam pullets (i.e. chickens that aren't laying just yet) have a lovely home. Just a few finishing touches required on the chook house.
Construction:
